Alex, with all due respect to you, ‘not perfect’ is nonsense. He was a disaster, the team looked lost and he spent £40m making that squad ‘terrible’. He caused huge issues in the dressing room, he threw the team under the bus instantly and the tactics’ consisted of the team facing almost regularly 30 shots on goal a game. Russell has a unique claim on being the worst manager Rangers have ever had. Danny Rohl instantly made those players and that team better and got them into a title race. Martin couldn’t even get them organised. So let’s be truthful. No axe to grind with Russell, I actually wish him all the best, but the dangers surrounding his style and management is very really and dismissing Rangers as ‘not perfect’ is disingenuous nonsense

She seems to struggle to understand why people are angry. It’s about the lack of leadership, governance, accountability and trust. People donated money to a political party in good faith, often while struggling themselves. That money was entrusted to the party’s leadership and senior officials. Where’s the empathy for those people? The public discussion isn’t about a family. It’s about a serious breach of trust.

The headline below does not name Airdrie and Shotts. But it does make @theSNP’s history of candidate-selection rows look even more deserving of scrutiny. In Airdrie and Shotts, Cllr Paul Di Mascio reportedly believed local SNP members would have backed him. Instead, he says he was put through a process involving Kirsten “Everest” Oswald, told he had failed and Anum Qaisar - daughter of a millionaire businessman - was selected, later becoming MP. Di Mascio alleged the process reflected influence from Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon. The SNP said Qaisar was selected by a ballot of members. Fine. Then let’s see the process, the scoring, the minutes and the decision-making. What I do not understand is why @JohnSwinney, supposedly trying to restore trust, has promoted Oswald when her name has also been linked to complaints about NEC scrutiny, finance questions and party governance. Maybe it is all coincidence. Maybe every uncomfortable question around SNP democracy just happens to pass the same desk. But Scotland is entitled to ask why someone so close to so many disputed internal processes has been rewarded with ministerial office rather than subjected to proper scrutiny.

Nicola Sturgeon’s sister Gill has released a new video, saying it’s “so difficult” to know Peter Murrell is still here but she “can’t see him”. “You can’t just switch off how you feel.”
