I have seen a lot of discussion on here about Ukraine and questions of racism, but thus far nothing (?!?) on the incredibly retrograde GENDER politics of the Ukraine discourse: endless statements about how men are defending helpless women and children etc

Unpopular take: the late Eric Carle wrote one truly amazing book...and that was it. The others are Not Good. At least one (see: the Mixed Up Chameleon) is genuinely grisly. Academics will recognize this problem in our field as well...

Julia Lynch was a natural born US citizen. So is Kamala Harris. No amount of wishful thinking on the right--or sloppy scholarship about birthright citizenship--is going to change that. Let's talk about actual issues instead. end/
