What happens when the incredibly talented Chef Manisha Bhasin @ChefManisha visits, and you spend hours talking about sustainable food while bonding over home-cooked meals garnished with fresh herbs from the kitchen garden? Pure magic. Grateful to enjoy dishes prepared by the one and only chef herself — and I even got to make pongsen, a traditional Ao Naga delicacy. Food, stories, and culture shared around one table. A beautiful start to the month of May, welcoming the summer season and celebrating Ao Naga Moatsü Mong. šŸŒæšŸ²ā˜€ļø @ChefManisha @MhaYanthan @TribalAffairsIn @MDoNER_India @MmhonlumoKikon @FAOIndia @AsiaOfficeAMAA @ambajamir #SustainableFood #HomeCookedMeals #KitchenGarden #FreshHerbs #FoodStories #CulturalCuisine #AoNaga #Pongsen #TraditionalFood #NagaCulture #MoatsuMong #SummerVibes #MayMoments #FarmToTable #FoodAndCulture #SlowLiving #SeasonalEating

Congratulations to Hon’ble Adviser, Shri @MhaYanthan and his tem on this very important document- Nagaland Agriculture Policy 2025
Today marks a significant milestone for the Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, as the Nagaland Agriculture Policy–2025 was formally presented in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly following Cabinet approval. With the visionary leadership and support of our Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, Nagaland now has a comprehensive Agriculture Policy after 63 years of statehood, reflecting the present realities, opportunities, and challenges of the sector. The next crucial step is to translate the policy into action through Government notification, clear implementation plans, alignment and convergence of schemes, adequate budgetary support, and effective monitoring. The Department remains committed to working with all stakeholders to realize the vision of the Nagaland Agriculture Policy–2025 for the long-term growth and prosperity of our farming community. @Neiphiu_Rio @ChouhanShivraj @AgriGoI @MyGovNagaland @AgriNgl @ambajamir

#AssameseThali Delights of exploring the hillscapes of Northeast India is experiencing indigenous flavors at local eateries—humble, family-run spots that serve traditional food deeply rooted in the land and its ancient customs. #Nutrition #Harmonywithnature #Resilience
#AssameseThali One of the true delights of road trips across India is savouring regional flavors at roadside dhabas—humble, locally run eateries that serve traditional food rooted in the land and its people. Road journeys through Assam have always held a special charm. The Assamese thali, presented as a harmonious spread on a simple metal platter, is a celebration of the state’s rustic abundance. Rather than relying on overpowering spices, it highlights the natural flavors of fresh local greens and seasonal ingredients. It is this understated purity that makes it true soul food of Northeast India. These local cuisines offers so much knowledge about nutrition, sustainability and resilience. #tradionalFood #Thali #AssameseFood

I had the privilege of engaging with an inspiring group of climate scientists through the My Climate Risk Interdisciplinary Learning Group under the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) on 10 Nov 2025. It was a meaningful opportunity to share my research and learning journey on a topic deeply connected to both my heart and my roots: ā€œListening to the Mountains: Insights from Indigenous Mountain Food Systems for a Resilient Future.ā€ The presentation was followed by rich and insightful discussions that deepened our collective understanding. Grateful to the Walker Institute (now Pearl) for making this experience possible. pearl.reading.ac.uk/event/my… #MyClimateRiskHub #WCRP

A fitting way to wrap up an eventful month, October ā€œ-festā€ of food-systems work! I had the opportunity to attend the Food Systems Countdown Initiative’s India Adaptation Workshop on 31 October 2025 at the UN House, New Delhi. It has been a privilege to be part of this process since the beginning of the year, and I’ve truly valued the meaningful deliberations led by GAIN India throughout. Looking forward to seeing the final outcome of this much-needed indicator framework for stronger, more resilient food systems.
