I remember Setanta Sports News.
"Yesterday's news, today!" was our hilarious strapline for it.
Setanta Sports dared to challenge Sky's stranglehold on Premier League football, winning the rights to 46 live games in 2006 and building a portfolio that stretched across the SPL, rugby, boxing, and racing.
But the business was built on borrowed money, and the debt eventually caught up with them. After missing a £10 million Premier League rights payment, the UK operation collapsed in June 2009 with over 200 jobs lost overnight.
The Irish arm survived the wreckage, eventually becoming Eir Sport, and Premier Sports also emerged from the ruins.
Anyone remember Setanta?
