Greetings Neopians, we have recently announced many changes and would like to clarify some points with our digital collectible holders. First and foremost, this is not a rugpull. Throughout last year, we launched two playable Alpha game builds exclusively for holders of our digital collectibles, namely our Neopets - Genesis Collection, Neopets - Pizzaroo Collection, Neopets - Masterpiece Collection, and selected invitees. Our first Alpha was live from Aug 26 to Sep 24, 2022 and included a re-imagined Neopia Central in 3D, along with playable 3D animated versions of some of our most popular Neopets species: Shoyru, Kougra and Xweetok. Core features such as dressing up and interacting with Neopets, decorating your Neohome, as well as battling against other Neopets in the new Battledome were, albeit in their basic form, available for our users to see and experience. We had also remade three nostalgic mini-games: Turmac Roll, Meerca Chase and Ultimate Bullseye, with new graphics and gameplay. Our second Alpha: Winter Edition, was live from Dec 20, 2022 to Jan 31, 2023. It showcased a new land, Terror Mountain, along with overall improvements to the UX/UI and a more complete game loop. Quest systems and rewards were linked to different features of the game and two additional mini-games: “Snowball Fight” and “Icy Islands” were re-imagined to fit the theme of Terror Mountain. Also added to the game was a new Neopet species, Uni, with new clothing and furniture items for the Neohome. As part of the Easter campaign on Mar 27 to Apr 17, 2023, we released a new mini game called Sundae Sweep and hosted a competition for our users to participate. During these times, we received valuable feedback from our users. We found that the results did not match the expectations of our broad Neopets community. Our audience, that we hold dear to our hearts, did not agree with the direction of the game. Listening to the voices of the community is paramount to the success of our brand and it is important to our team to listen to the needs and wants of our fans – to do what is best for Neopets overall. After the recent reviews by TNT (The Neopets Team) ahead of the leadership change, the decision has been made to transition away from the Neopets Metaverse, as we want to design a game that is more in line with what the community has been asking for. Since making this decision, we have repurposed some of the best assets from the Neopets Metaverse game while refocusing the core game loop and overall direction. We aim to build a game that engages our whole fan base, from our very first players in 1999 to our newest players. We will continue embracing any new technologies to improve our gameplay and user experience, as we believe it is the best way to revitalise our brand and attract a new generation of Neopets fans. We are so grateful for the community's support and want to emphasise the importance of building together to bring Neopets back to its glory days. Neopians who believe in web3 (i.e. our digital collectible holders) are a valuable and respected part of our community, and we will be announcing more details on future perks soon as a sign of our appreciation.
