Just a three-hour drive from #Gaza, food for 200,000 people, medicine for 1.6 million, blankets, hygiene kits and school supplies sit waiting. Meanwhile, people in Gaza are in need of everything. Supplies need to enter. Now.

Alert...💥patients you need to check who's treating you, to ensure it's not a PA, masquerarading as a Dr, with just 2yrs training. You need to protect yourself, because the establishment certainly isn't. @gmcuk @NHSE_WTE @drcolinm @wesstreeting @NavinaEvans

As we welcome the news that the UK will support Ukraine with a £2.26bn loan… Here’s your reminder that the Conservatives wasted £9.9bn on unusable or defective PPE Never forget their staggering corruption and incompetence.

This case is utterly tragic. A patient experiencing abdominal pain and vomiting was seen by a physician associate and diagnosed with a nosebleed, and was discharged from hospital that same day. She died two days later after having a catastrophic bowel obstruction. The coroner concluded that the ‘physician associate’ title is misleading to the public and that ‘no steps’ had been taken by NHS staff to correct the family of the false impression that the PA was a doctor. The coroner also dismissed the hospital’s idea that PAs are equivalent to doctors on the medical rotas, and that ‘blurring roles’ puts lives at risk. Meanwhile the expansion of the role of PAs within the NHS continues, with the green light also being given to recruit PAs from WHO red list countries. Patient safety is paramount. @wesstreeting must act now to prevent further cases like this happening.

It's dishonest, reckless & nothing short of scandalous. A 2-year course with a 100% pass rate is simply no substitute for the breadth & depth of a medical degree. All I want is for patients who need to see a doctor to do so. Is that really too much to ask, @wesstreeting?

"Eight more water companies to be quizzed by MPs." Now this could start to get very interesting, well done @CommonsEFRA 👏👏👏 Although it does beg the question, yet again. Why is it that private individuals, community groups and now MPs are having to do the regulators' job for them? committees.parliament.uk/com…

If only this from the Sunday Times were new - the truth is even worse: that trusts have been advertising for “corridor nurses” for several years. A horrendous illustration of how overwhelmed hospitals are. This isn’t “flu” - it’s flu lack of beds lack of social care 🧵

Holding Labour accountable is fine but that’s NOT what’s happening. What we’re seeing is the most rich powerful people in the world throwing all they’re got at a democratically elected UK govt, because it’s far less likely to work solely in THEIR interests than the previous one.
