A big trend at @NewsletterConf: "Who, not how many".
According to @_May_Ham, smart operators like @AdamRy_n from Workweek and @Shortguy1 from The Flyover don't care (much) anymore about traditional newsletter metrics like subscriber count and open rates.
Instead, they're optimizing for getting *the right people* onto their lists and taking action...
- How many qualified clicks and leads can your newsletter send to advertisers?
- Are your readers the ideal customer for your product or service?
With the right subscribers, you don't need a lot of them. Nathan hit $1M /year in revenue off ~900 subscribers!
