Today is Rajar day - when I worked in commercial radio, if it was up, the sales team went out for lunch, and congratulated themselves. When I worked in BBC local radio - we didn't care about Rajar - as long it went up. If you want a free sandwich in radio work in sales.

Reading that the BBC Local Radio car is being dispensed. - good! Tech has moved on from an 8ft mast or dish. My least favourite car was the Austin Rover Montego at Radio Suffolk - I spent many hours awaiting the AA rescue. Listeners waved as I sat stranded.
