The way we interact with the web is about to change. A lot. Last week we had a fun internal hackathon to prototype something Mike and I have dreamed about for years, and recent advancements in LLMs combined with our passion for building local, personal, superpower desktop apps has unlocked.
The premise behind Quill browser, or ‘B’ for short, is this: imagine a personal assistant for the entire internet, secure and local, separate from your main browser, but with memory, your personal logins safely stored, and agency to do many things in parallel. It even asks for help when needed or if something sensitive is about to happen.
Basically, imagine ChatGPT or Cursor but for the web.
What we built is really just a glimpse of what we think is inevitably coming, in one form or another. It doesn’t work perfectly all the time, but in just a few days we unlocked a clear path for the future.
At Quill, we are all about democratizing and distilling powerful AI capabilities into local, private, personalized tools. Not just because we care about consumers (which we do), but because with a hyper-personalized tool rolled out to the whole org, enterprises can truly unlock each employee’s potential.
