Parents have been pressuring Fairfax County Public Schools to make changes to the school calendar in order to get more instructional time for students. Now, the district is asking parents what days off should be eliminated, and that could include major religious holidays such as Christmas or Rosh Hashanah. bit.ly/4uy3N94

🚨New: Fairfax County Public Schools is asking parents if they’re ok with eliminating Christmas in the school calendar, and other religious and cultural observances like Diwali, Eid al-Fitr, and Rosh Hashanah. FCPS has been under pressure recently to incorporate more five day school weeks.
‘Open the school!’ Hundreds of parents are demanding Fairfax County to add more 5-day school weeks. Right now, fewer than half of the school weeks have five days of instruction time in Fairfax County Public Schools. wjla.com/news/local/hundreds…

“Our office is reviewing the complaint filed by the Acting Attorney General and President Trump’s personal attorney Todd Blanche - we remain steadfast in our mission to protect Virginians right to safe communities and transparent enforcement of the law,” said Attorney General Jay Jones.
🚨 The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the Commonwealth of Virginia, Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones, and Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano. The lawsuit challenges their: - “unconstitutional attempt to regulate federal law enforcement officers by criminally prohibiting federal officers from wearing masks, requiring individual identifiers, and functionally banning cooperative 287(g) agreements with numerous local law enforcement agencies dedicated to helping enforce this nation’s laws.” The DOJ said, “Not only is the law an illegal attempt to regulate the federal government, but, as alleged in the complaint, the law threatens the safety of federal officers who have faced an unprecedent wave of harassment, doxing, and even violence. Threatening officers with prosecution for simply protecting their identities and their families also chills the enforcement of federal law and compromises sensitive law enforcement operations.” "Law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep Americans safe, and they do not deserve to be doxed or harassed simply for carrying out their duties," said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. "Virginia’s anti-law enforcement policies regulate the federal government and are designed to create risk for our agents. These laws cannot stand." "Governor Spanberger cannot tell Federal officers how to do their job,” said Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward. "And she certainly cannot prohibit them from ensuring their own safety in conducting Federal law enforcement operations. Our suit today stops those unconstitutional efforts." "The Department of Justice will steadfastly protect the privacy and safety of law enforcement from unconstitutional state laws like Virginia’s," said Assistant Attorney General Brett A. Shumate of the Justice Department’s Civil Division.

WATCH: @LoudounSupe Dr. Aaron Spence is a COWARD who dodged every question I asked about why his school district punishes students who don't want transgenders filming other students in their locker rooms. If you can't defend your own policy, you shouldn't be running a school district.

🚨BREAKING: the Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against Virginia, its Attorney General Jay Jones & the Commonwealth Attorney for Fairfax, Steve Descano. It's challenging their attempts for: -mask bans for federal officers -requests that officers display 'individual identifiers' and -refusal to cooperate with other law enforcement agencies on immigration issues. The claim, in part: Not only is the law an illegal attempt to regulate the federal government, but, as alleged in the complaint, the law threatens the safety of federal officers who have faced an unprecedent wave of harassment, doxing, and even violence. Threatening officers with prosecution for simply protecting their identities and their families also chills the enforcement of federal law and compromises sensitive law enforcement operations. EXCLUSIVE: Illegal Alien Leads DMV Police On A Wild Chase And Three Day Manhunt Following Multiple Assaults And An Abduction On June 6, 2026, police responded to a report of a domestic situation at a house in Herndon, Virginia. Cristian Wilfredo Alvarenga Aguilar arrived at a relative’s house and began assaulting family members. He then abducted a victim at knifepoint, stole the victim’s car, and left the area. Aguilar abandoned the vehicle and his victim in Maryland and fled. He was arrested three days later in the Herndon area. Local police said Aguilar has ties to the MS-13 Salvadoran gang. Aguilar has been charged with robbery, carjacking, abduction, and assault. His criminal history includes prior arrests for assault, armed carjacking, extortion, harassing communication, and damage property. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer asking sanctuary politicians in Fairfax County, Virginia to not release Aguilar. “This criminal illegal alien faces charges of carjacking, abduction, assault, and robbery after a vicious carjacking at knifepoint in Herndon, Virginia,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis to @BorderHawkNews. “DHS is calling on Governor Abigail Spanberger and her fellow sanctuary politicians in Fairfax County to turn this violent criminal over to ICE so he cannot perpetrate more crimes and create more victims. Under Governor Spanberger’s sanctuary policies, Virginia has become a magnet for illegal aliens who know that the state’s sanctuary politicians will protect them.” H/T @NFTC_News

Republican Congressman Mark Harris grilled Loudoun County Superintendent Spence, who the school board pays half a million dollars, for taking so much time away from the school district to go to conferences in places like Puerto Rico, San Diego, and Miami. Rep. Harris pointed out how Spence went on one of those trips during a major string of student fentanyl overdoses. And LCPS didn’t tell parents for weeks about the overdoses even though Spence promised parents transparency. After the hearing, I asked Democratic Congressman Suhas Subramanyam about what he thought about LCPS waiting weeks to notify parents of the student overdoses.     “That’s one place where I disagree with the school system,” said Rep. Subramanyam.

Rep. Foxx: Do you think it's appropriate for boys to sleep in the same room as girls on field trips? Loudoun Superintendent Aaron Spence: It's appropriate and lawful for transgender students to be able to be treated as their consistently identified gender. Rep. Onder: Dr. Spence, yes or no. Should biological men be allowed in locker rooms with biologic women or girls? Spence: Transgender women should be allowed in women's spaces. Rep. Fine: Dr. Spence, do you use the women's restroom? Spence: Of course not. Rep. Fine: Why not? Spence: Because I would never use a woman's restroom. I'm a male.

I’m now kind of understanding why @LoudounSupe of Loudoun County Public Schools is afraid to talk to tough reporters like @NickMinock . He kind of walks right into the most obvious trap ever right here.

So far, Loudoun County Superintendent Aaron Spence has not been pressed hard by lawmakers in the @EdWorkforceCmte hearing. Spence appears comfortable and he's using similiar answers as the Chicago Public Schools' Superintendent.
Today, Loudoun County Superintendent Aaron Spence will be in the hot seat on Capitol Hill. LCPS has made national headlines over the past five years and @EdWorkforceCmte members tell me today’s hearing is an opportunity to hold district leadership accountable.
