For productive tasks like editing or browsing the web, I find the UI of Meta Quest Remote Desktop to be quite nice. Especially the ability to work on your PC while still having access to the Quest's apps in mixed reality.
I do have an issue where Remote Desktop sometimes flashes my displays—like when opening it from the menu. The flashing can get consistent enough that I have to close the app.
It could also just be my setup—my PC isn't in the same room as the router, so WiFi signal is probably the culprit (Spectrum upload speed has nothing to do with it since this is all local network streaming).
For gaming (2D/non VR), Virtual Desktop is better compared to Remote Desktop. For me it's not really the latency but more the bitrate and stability. The framerate also fluctuates, which can be a problem for competitive games.
Why play non-VR games in VR? I don't know, but I love VR enough to do stuff like this lol.
Like I said, it could still be issues on my end—but from my experience of editing a whole video entirely inside Remote Desktop in VR, I find this to be a very strong W by Meta.
