Spiritual growth requires that we let go of our stories about who we are, because they are stories about who we were. How we show up right this moment is all that counts.

There’s nothing elite about being illiterate 🙄
Elite university students are now incapable of reading a book. Instead of fixing this, universities are simply reducing reading requirements to shorter and shorter excerpts. This is no mere literacy crisis. It is a civilizational one. To fight back, we started an online book club to study the great texts of Western Civilization — if the schools and universities won't teach the great books, we must form reading groups to study them ourselves. Every month, we read a new great work. We've covered texts like Augustine's Confessions, Dante's Inferno, The Count of Monte Cristo, Don Quixote. We're now reading Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. We must study the ideas upon which the West was built if we are to preserve it. It takes effort to read these texts, and even more to read them well. Thats what we're doing, slowly, in dialogue with each other. If you'd like to be part of this, please join our reading group and consider a paid subscription. It makes a HUGE difference to the time and resources we can dedicate to this project. We are entirely funded by our members. You'll get: - Live book club discussions (biweekly) - Access to our incredible community chat - Essays to guide you through the Great Books - All past recordings, essays, and podcasts - Ability to vote on what we read next athenaeumbooks.com/welcome Welcome!

UK: beheadings are forgiven but not actually sitting in the park enjoying the day. How dare you!
Policja w Wielkiej Brytanii przebiła wszytko to, o czym czytaliście u George Orwell'a. Policjantka: "Patrzyłyśmy na ciebie przez parę minut i jeśli jesteś w parku, ale nie siedzisz na ławce, albo nie czekasz na kogoś... chcemy wiedzieć, co tu robisz".

🔥 BREAKING 🔥 An Africa-based research team aiming to disprove Western claims about low IQ in African countries went viral. After conducting mass IQ tests, over 50% of participants scored below 70, with a median score of 69.7 which supports Western findings. Low IQ = Low impulse control & a higher level of crime & violence. This is evident across the West with 3rd world Mass immigration. ❌ IQ under 75 An IQ under 75 indicates an intellectual or cognitive disability, often characterized by slow learning, poor impulse control, difficulties with abstract reasoning & significant challenges with social and daily living skills. Individuals may exhibit a childlike approach to problems, struggle with long-term consequences & are more prone to violence due to lack of social/ emotional intelligence & communication skills.

Ghengis Khan used the same approach. It’s part of conquering by erasing a people’s history and traditions. Islam and Communism does it as well. The cathedrals they’ve burned, the statues they’ve removed. Renaming places and streets. Why are the targets not using security?
🚨 BREAKING NEWS! 🚨 A 124 year old Buddhist temple in Hokkaido called the Naritasan Shōkōji Temple has been burned down. This now makes it the 8th historic Buddhist temple burned down this year.

Does Britain have any men left?
Broken Britain - Police refuse to help.... Woman in her 80s returned home to find 'Eastern Europeans' had moved into her house... and police say they can't help A gang of suspected foreign criminals seized the home of a frail pensioner while she was visiting her 'lonely' 102-year-old friend, sparking an 'absurd' two-month legal battle to try and remove them. Shameless squatters allegedly broke into the elderly woman's £590,000 terraced property in Chingford, north-east London, at the end of April and have refused to leave. The retired woman, who is believed to be in her 80s and living alone, is thought to have been 'deliberately targeted' by an organised crime group from Eastern Europe She has been left effectively homeless as a result and is understood to have suffered a serious health condition following her nightmare ordeal. However, despite her home now being in the hands of strangers, the Metropolitan Police has refused to take action to remove the group, claiming the matter is a civil offence and not a criminal one. And those now allegedly holding the pensioner's property ransom have defiantly said; 'it's all fine' and 'nothing is happening' - before refusing to say when or if they would be leaving. The fiasco has sparked outrage among neighbours, with one 63-year-old fuming: 'They're taking the p***. This elderly woman has worked so hard for this country and paid her taxes and now this has happened... It's f***ing outrageous.' Among those seen leaving the home was a woman and a number of children. It's unclear if they are among those now allegedly living in the building 'This whole thing is organised - it's an organised crime... [but] trying to get police to take action on this is completely astonishing.' When journalists visited the quiet suburban street, a number of families were seen coming in and out of the three-bed terraced house. One was driving an untaxed, grey Mercedes C class. Others appeared to be driving a luxury BMW X5. The group was also accompanied by at least three young children. It's unclear whether those spotted entering and leaving the home are among the alleged squatters. Locals claimed to have seen dozens of people visiting the property in recent weeks - while others alleged that human faeces had been smeared on neighbouring homes. The elderly homeowner, thought to be a widowed mother, is now understood to be living with family in the West Country, after having suffered a serious health condition.

🚨 UPDATE: 8 people charged in Sex Ring “Underground Bunker” for Paying adults to Rape their Children and Pets — Ages 3-16. Trial delayed as mom pleads guilty and flips on co-defendants In Bibb County, Alabama, eight suspects ran a sex trafficking ring out of an underground bunker where children as young as 3 were drugged, bound, and raped with adults paying to abuse them. Animals were also targeted. Rebecca Brewer and mother of some of the victims, pleaded guilty to sexual torture and nine counts of first-degree kidnapping. As part of the deal she agreed to testify against the other seven defendants. The trial for the remaining suspects has been delayed while the case expands, including a federal investigation into at least one of them. These monsters turned their own kids and pets into victims for profit. How long will it take for every last one of them to face real justice?

Yes! And America allows all of them to start a company and share the ownership and work hard like the SpaceX people for years, and create the same thing for everyone! They won’t budge out of their envious victimhood to do so.
Over 4000 workers just became millionaires by owning the means of production and the socialists are pissed

I just hope they aren’t protesting expecting the same government that has been sacrificing their children and country to change and fix things. Don’t stop Ireland. Your government knew what it was doing to you. They have to go.
🚨IRELAND ON THE BRINK! In the last 24 hours, Irish patriots have shut down the nation! Truck drivers, bus operators and farmers have paralysed cities with massive blockades. Even as Gardaí threaten 6 months in jail, more patriots flood the streets in defiance. Ireland is primed for revolution.

And people wonder why some folks think we need rockets. I promise they are thinking about mining materials from the expanded universe.
The world's clean energy transition represents a colossal expansion of the world's mining industry. To catch a diffuse energy source like sunlight or wind needs an unprecedented volume of physical machinery. A single solar farm requires roughly 30 times more total metal infrastructure than a conventional gas plant. We aren't moving away from mining; we're swapping enormous oceanic drilling rigs for vast open-cut metal mines. The demand for heavy mining and rare earths is just as compelling as the downstream e-waste crisis, but the numbers are even more staggering. While solar cells rely heavily on high-purity silicon, silver, and copper, the broader 'green infrastructure' ecosystem demands far more. The EV motors, wind turbines and massive national grids required to tie intermittent solar together are entirely dependent on an unprecedented surge in heavy mining and rare earth extraction. This physical mining demand has simply exploded with the shift from conventional fossil fuel energy generation to wind and solar. Because wind and sunshine are so diluted and diffused, harvesting them requires a massive physical footprint, necessitating endless extra acres of complex machinery. This translates into heavily vandalised landscapes and grotesque coastal settings. According to the IEA, replacing them world's fossil-fuel system with renewables increases the total volume of materials requiring extraction and handling by a factor of 10. Solar alone is exceptionally copper-intensive, using roughly 850 kg per megawatt for intricate grid connections, inverters and cabling. Renewable energy is projected to drive 45% of total global copper demand by 2030. Yet, developing a new major copper mine takes an average of 16 years from initial discovery to first production. The world faces a massive demand spike for a metal where the supply chain is notoriously slow, costly, and inflexible. Solar panels don't use much in the way of rare earths, but wind turbines and the electric vehicle motors that back up the low-carbon shift are hungry for permanent magnets made from neodymium, praseodymium and dysprosium. Processing these elements involves intensive chemical leaching that produces vast amounts of toxic and radioactive wastewater. Compounding the problem, China controls roughly 60–70% of the extraction and up to 90% of the refining for these specific elements. This has created a massive geopolitical bottleneck. Image: this massive chasm is the Bingham Canyon Mine (also called the Kennecott Copper Mine) just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. It is one of the largest man-made excavations on Earth and the deepest open-pit mine in the world, stretching 4 kilometres wide and more than a kilometre deep.

This is what I see every day. It takes 192 different jobs and skill sets to produce an iPhone. And most of the participants don’t understand each other’s job. They understand less than 1% of the world around them. And they are allowed to vote on how you live.
The problem with universal suffrage is that the more technologically advanced a civilization becomes, the smaller the fraction of people there are in it with the native intelligence to understand how it works. When the majority of humanity was employed in whacking at the dirt with a pointed stick, and the height of technology was a slightly better pointed stick, anyone with a triple digit IQ could understand what was going on. Now, we have things like stock markets, the internet, transportation infrastructure, and the Linux kernel, but most people who vote are unable to conceive of these as anything but large piles of chocolate coins, or something else they can put their mouths. Because that's how the average monkey interacts with money. They stack the blocks, the research assistant gives them a token, they exchange the token for a banana. It's no good trying to explain to the monkeys what supply chain is, or how a trillion dollars worth of rockets can't magically be converted into a trillion dollars worth of bananas just because they're both measured in dollars, as if a six-foot man and a six-foot plank of wood were interchangeable. Finding a slightly different explanation, or getting the monkeys to sit still and really listen, doesn't really help. Because the problem isn't just that the monkeys aren't paying attention. The problem is that the monkeys are monkeys. Their brains simply don't have the developmental capacity to grow the neural connections they would need in order to grasp and manipulate the concept. In the long term, this is why universal democracy is doomed. Because societies that let retards vote will fail, and be replaced by those that don't. You may think that we, as a society, face a great variety of problems. We do not. We have only one. Retards. Every other problem we have is downstream from their inability to understand the consequences of their political opinions. But to fully grasp the implications of this, you have to understand that the definition of "retard" changes over time, as technology advances, because the IQ level required to grasp what's really going on gets steadily higher and higher. Eventually, the category "retard" grows until it includes the average person. This has already happened. Nick Knudsen isn't dumber than the average guy. But the average guy, the 100 IQ salt of the earth guy that's sitting on the next bar stool over, can no longer understand the modern economy. And this isn't correctable, because the problem isn't ignorance, it's complexity. You can't make Nick Knudsen smarter by telling him things. You can't even make him less ignorant, because the bare facts aren't believable to someone who doesn't have the framework to understand how they fit together. The people who understand what's going on are so much smarter than him that he doesn't even think they sound smart. He thinks they sound crazy.
