Mercedes Dorame uses photography to explore what she calls “the problematics of visibility” of First Peoples in the United States. Photographing places that hold mythical or cosmological importance for her Tongva community, she forges a dialogue with her ancestors.

Transparency among creatives is SO important! There hasn’t been any point in my life where I’ve been able to only freelance 100% of the time. Working side hustles or blue collar jobs doesn’t make you less of an artist 🫶
Artists, I'm tired of pretending like I (we,you) don't have a day job, or that having one in any way makes you less of a real artist in some way. I'm proud to be blue collar. I don't think we should hide it if we are.

This is what it comes down to: if you look at art like a consumer demanding a burger with certain ingredients, everything will eventually be treated like it's McDonald's
Game devs are tired. Writers are tired. Comic book creators are tired. Musicians are tired. Actors are tired. Every industry that produces media you love has been ravaged by a parasitic executive class who want to starve creators to feed some shitcunt's desire for a seventh house

Indy was really, really tired yesterday, but still went for his Ridgeway walk. He's not skipping a single day. Absolutely determined to do this. Please support him if you can!
My 13 year-old son, Indy, is walking along the Ridgeway, 87 miles in total, to raise money for Ukrainian refugees @UNRefugeesUK. He's taking the Ukrainian flag with him & photographing it along the way. Please support him if you can! justgiving.com/fundraising/i…

If this post can reach some far corners of the Internet, not only will I have enough for rent, but so many donations to *other* people & animals in need will be helped!
31 Jul 2023
Today is the last day for me to make the rest of rent & if I’m very lucky, maybe get some groceries! *Any* order in the store will have a portion donated to the customer’s charity of choice (10% from me, matched by three other donors). That’s 40% of the order total as a donation!

The @MuseeOrsay had some of his glass plates of display during the "Degas à l'Opéra" exhibition. Do not ask me why it is orange, I do not know.
