An absolute honour today to celebrate @AWRCENTRE remarkable 45-year journey of providing support to women experiencing domestic abuse & harmful practices. As Chair of this organisation, this was made even more remarkable by the presence of Her Majesty the Queen @RoyalFamily

We are honoured to have been joined by Her Majesty the Queen today to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Asians Womenβs Resource Centre.
To mark this special occasion, Her Majesty officially opened the centreβs new Healing Garden, a space for reflection and rejuvenation for women, staff and the wider community. The Queen also had the opportunity to tour the newly refurbished centre, where Her Majesty met staff, volunteers and trustees.
The Queen also met survivors of domestic abuse who have received help from AWRC. Her Majesty also joinedsurvivors taking part in an arts activity, designed to help process trauma.
Thank you to everyone who attended and especially to those who opened up so bravely about their own experiences of abuse - To have the support of Her Majesty means the world and sends a really powerful message that we are united in our commitment to end abuse for good.
