The more time goes on, the more I think the USA needs to treat junk "food" like tobacco was treated.
Require labeling on all junk food to say something like, "This product is known to contribute to obesity and shorten your life if consumed regularly."
First, we need official designations of what constitutes junk food and what "regularly" means. Companies and people will complain, but something has to change in this country in this regard and QUICKLY.
I am privileged enough to be working with a health coach,
@Mangan150, but most people cannot. It's not cheap, but neither are the meds I was taking or the future I am facing if I don't make changes.
About 5 weeks ago, my wife and I changed what we eat to be vastly simpler, simple proteins, even more vegetables, no, and almost no processed foods. We are both down ~8 pounds each, feel better overall, and I am off depression/anxiety meds. It has not been easy, but either I do this ASAP, or I am likely going to be in a *really* bad situation in the coming years. The irony is the anxiety about that bad situation is the major cause of my depression, crippling anxiety, and bad eating. A feedback loop.
I need to drop, at minimum, around 200lbs (90kg) of fat. That is what I am shooting for initially.
