Speaking at the inauguration of the United Nations Nairobi Expansion Project in Gigiri, UN Secretary-General António Guterres criticised the global financial system for forcing African countries to pay borrowing costs three times higher than those of developed nations, despite some having stronger financial stability and growth prospects. Guterres also called for permanent African representation on the UN Security Council and a stronger voice for Africa within the IMF and World Bank.

Communiqué on the Situation in #Venezuela. The African Union is following with grave concern the recent developments in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, including reports of the abduction of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nicolás Maduro, and military attacks on Venezuelan institutions. The African Union reaffirms its steadfast commitment to the fundamental principles of international law, including respect for the sovereignty of States, their territorial integrity, and the right of peoples to self-determination, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. The African Union underscores the importance of dialogue, peaceful settlement of disputes, and respect for constitutional and institutional frameworks, in a spirit of good neighbourliness, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence among nations. The African Union emphasizes that the complex internal challenges facing Venezuela can only be sustainably addressed through inclusive political dialogue among Venezuelans themselves. The African Union expresses its solidarity with the Venezuelan people and reiterates its commitment to the promotion of peace, stability, and mutual respect among nations and regions. The African Union calls upon all parties concerned to exercise restraint, responsibility, and respect for international law to prevent any escalation and to preserve regional peace and stability. Kimpa Kyia Vita. When we know where we got our strength from! #africandescent
Over 315 years ago, [7/2/1706], Kimpa Vita was burned alive with her son on her back by Catholic missionaries Kimpa Vita was killed for preaching the return to roots, African/Kongo traditions, the return to Mbanza-Kongo land now in Congo of her ancestors that was abandoned after the death of the sovereign Vita-A-Nkanga in the famous Battle of Mbwila (Ambuila - 1665). Kimpa Vita was killed because she advised the Kongo people to abandon foreign beliefs (Catholicism), and for conducting a spiritual struggle against the Portuguese. She was baptized with the name of Ana Beatriz when she was a child. But when he started her fight, she rejected the baptism name and adopted the name, "Kimpa Vita or Kimpa Kya Nvita" which means "NEW WAY TO MAKE WAR". A war that she considered spiritual. Kimpa Vita was burned alive with her son on her back by Catholic missionaries. Your comments on this ...
