Some of my favorites from Hunter's Scottish collection @hunterian are the Ducat, 2/3rd & 1/3rd Ducat of James V. They're dated 1540 but were struck up until James's death in 1542. They're the earliest coins to be made from Scottish gold. #NumisChat #Numismatics #ScottishHistory

I am cataloguing the North Africa and Spain collection @hunterian for the Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum project (sylloge-nummorum-graecorum.o…). Work has started with assessing the collection against MacDonald's mighty collection publication! #numismatics #NumisChat

I'm currently cataloguing the William Hunter collection of Scottish coins @hunterian. This Noble of David II (c.1357) is a highlight. It's Scotland's 1st ever gold #coin, 1 of 4 in existence. I never thought I'd get to hold one #NumisChat #Numismatics #ScottishHistory #Coinage
