As part of the ongoing advancements in the Runaki project, 1,260 neighborhood generators have been phased out so far across Erbil, Slemani, and Duhok. This accounts for 17% of all neighborhood generators in the Kurdistan Region. Phasing out these generators reduces annual CO₂ emissions by 240,000 tons, an impact which is equivalent to removing 220,000 passenger cars from the roads.

Less than 51,000 dinars! April electricity bills for half of the residents of these neighbourhoods were below 51,000 IQD even in the absence of a subsidy.
