On May 5th, we remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit community members.
Each red dress symbolizes a life lost - daughters, mothers, sisters, loved ones, and friends. Their absence resonates in our communities, and their stories matter.
We are actively calling for safe, affordable, culturally appropriate housing solutions in response.
The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls outlined that access to safe and affordable housing is integral to preventing violence against women, girls, Two Spirit, Trans, and gender-diverse people. Ten of the National Inquiry’s Calls for Justice demand greater access to safe, affordable housing.
Today, we stand with survivors, families, and those impacted, and wear red in remembrance.
