I'm happy to share what I've been working on for a while: a book on the Russian General Staff. The most important military institution in Russia has not had any English book on it since 2006. Now it's time. Sharing is caring, but pre-order is good karma (link below).

Korrekt.

Ukraine's Fire Point company is racing to build a cheaper alternative to Patriot missiles for air defense against Russia's ballistic missiles. First tests have been "pretty sucessful." European and Ukrainian officials say it has had discussions with Germany’s Hensoldt and Thales for radar, Italy’s Leonardo for tracking and target acquisition radar, and Norway’s Kongsberg for command and control technology. w/ @charles_clover @fabrice_deprez @FT ft.com/content/c5839dd4-c4e9…

🔥⚓️🚢BREAKING: Operators of the 1st Separate Center of the USF struck and set ablaze the Russian Baltic Fleet corvette Project 20380 Steregushchiy-class corvette Boykiy while it was undergoing repairs in a dry dock at Kronstadt near St. Petersburg. Particularly notable is that the strike was carried out using guided strike drones controlled in real time 900 km from Ukraine.

Everyone is debating whether the missile was an RBS 15 or not. I think they're asking the wrong question. The real story is how Ukraine combined sea drones, UAVs, intelligence assets and long-range precision weapons into a single kill chain. One drone forces the radar to activate. One sensor confirms the target. One missile exploits the opening. That's not a missile story. That's a systems engineering story. And every engagement generates data for the next generation of weapons. Russia may be helping Saab improve Gungnir faster than any peacetime test program ever could. Welcome to warfare in 2026. kyivpost.com/post/73417

I've heard for 3 years that advances during an attritional war is not linear and slowly increase until a breaking point. The truth is that the contrary is happening, the ukrainian situation that was critical in 2024 and difficult in 2025 was slowly fixed thanks to reforms.

20 Iskandr and Tsirkon against Kyiv area. Russia continues expanding the % of ballistic missiles in strikes to wear out Ukrainian air defenses, as RF frontline pace slows, logistics feels pressure, and frontline forces cannibalize themselves with abuses/ extortion.

Dök upp i Aktuellt.

.@Deepstate_UA assesses that Russia occupied an additional 14 square kilometers in May, the slowest monthly rate of advance since October 2023. They note that they post updates on Ukrainian advances with a delay for security reasons and that, if these non-public updates were included, Russia actually lost territory this month. t.me/DeepStateUA/23546
