I am not an expert on these kind of things with the CBA. I am a fan of the Draft. Not college baseball. I do not care about whether or not college gets better or more entertaining. This is a waste of time for players who could get money right now. Especially young pitchers.

League cares about player health given their ban on activity from October-January? Uh huh, sure they do. But they’ll remove prep arms, with their attrition rate, the ability to capitalize on their value now and go to worse systems for their health

As has been the case for a few CBA negotiation periods, amateur players outside of union representation are being used as pawns for change and money savings. And that sucks.

I teased this was coming in January, as well as the ramifications surrounding such a change. overslotbaseball.com/article…

Well that’s no fun, sincerely hope this doesn’t end up happening
MLB today proposed an overhauled domestic amateur-entry system that removes high school players from the draft, makes college players eligible after sophomore year, shortens the draft from 20 to 12 rounds, and cuts bonus pool from current $358.7M to $200M, sources tell ESPN.

The 2027 Mississippi State pitching staff has a chance to be historic and generational. Perhaps one of the greatest staffs of all time. Could it hold three first round picks? Five Top 100 picks? A deep dive and analytic breakdown on the boys of Starkville. 👇STORY👇

This offseason I wrote in my notes that something about how the way Oregon State's LHP Ethan Kleinschmit moves is very similar to George Kirby. Today, I tried overlaying the two, and, well, might've been onto something there (the lefty Kleinschmit is flipped to the right here)

It's not a perfect overlay, very different camera angles and my first time trying to overlay stuff, but I think it gets the point across

Big-time player, can seriously hit from the left side. Excited to see who he ends up playing for, he could go really good in 2028.
TRANSFER: Big fish. Oregon OF Angel Laya is entering the portal. Laya hit .296 w/14 HR. Prototype RF. Big arm. Going to get a ton of NIL wherever he lands. Potential first round pick in 2028. 👇PROFILE👇

Combined northeast prep college MLB draft rankings next week. I'll probably go 30 deep this time around. Spoiler Alert: There will be some changes and you can expect a high school heavy list.

TRANSFER: Saint Mary’s catcher Ian Armstrong is in the portal. Armstrong is coming off a sophomore year where he slashed .351/.416/.654 w/16 HR. He’ll be a target for most bluebloods. No. 30 ranked prospect in the 2027 Draft. Potential first round traits. 👇PROFILE👇

Bit late to this one, but I like what Spurrier brings to the table. It's a guy with a durable body and delivery up to 98 mph who throws strikes and hides the ball well, and he pulls the string on a good offspeed pitch that flashes above-average, breaker's got some bend. Good get
TRANSFER: Samford RHP Zak Spurrier is headed to Louisville. An impact get for the Cardinals and an immediate option in the weekend rotation.

This has admittedly done much better than I thought it would. So, if you enjoy my work, I'll point you the way of @OverSlot_ , where the majority of my work is. It's an elite group, and we're doing some awesome things, all over draft coverage as we're just a couple weeks out!

Some little mistakes I’ve been alerted on: - Trey Ebel is a Texas A&M commit, not LSU - Nathanael Davis is an LSU commit, not Florida - Bo Holloway goes to Christian Presbyterian Academy All have been corrected. Lmk if there’s any other mistakes, I’ll be quick to correct it.
Here's my top 150 prospects for the 2026 draft. My thoughts and opinions are completely my own, as are my reports. I'm happy to explain the placement of any players, and the link to the article with all the reports will be below 👇

As promised earlier, here's an alternative way to view the board. The Google Sheet linked below is easier to navigate, and also has a bonus TLDR for each prospect if you're just looking for the cliff notes, and not all the nitty gritty docs.google.com/spreadsheets…
