One week from today, we’ll be bringing together a Europe‑wide group of researchers, practitioners, and civil society leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping democratic governance across the continent.
On Wednesday, May 6, we are hosting the first of two Europe Pre‑Forum Webinars, ‘Governing Democracy in the Age of AI: Open Questions and Emerging Tensions in Europe’. The conversation will be guided by a diverse panel of experts working at the intersection of democracy, accountability, and emerging technologies.
Joining us are
@FranklinDVrieze, Head of Practice on Accountability at the
@WFD_Democracy,
@JorimTheuns, Founder of Dembrane,
@LyudaKozlovska, President of the
@ODFoundation, and Ravi Sreenath, Co‑founder and Managing Director of
@Ripple_research. Together, they bring perspectives spanning research, civil society advocacy, institutional reform, and applied AI. The discussion will be moderated by Elias Sköld, Project Manager at
@pssi_prague.
Their insights will help surface key dilemmas Europe is facing as AI influences elections, public discourse, and information ecosystems, and will feed directly into the 2026 GDC Europe Regional Forum in Prague and the Europe Regional Report. We look forward to welcoming Coalition Partners and others working on democracy and technology to join us online on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM CET, 9:00 AM ET, via Zoom, with a livestream on the GDC YouTube channel.
