The Allen Battery has good predictive validity: ACLS-5.2, Allen Diagnostic Module, the Routine Task Inventory & the Cognitive Performance Test all yield an Allen level score that indicates level of independence, supervision & set up required for safety & client satisfaction

2/2 to that action e.g. cooking a meal involves finding a recipe, buying ingredients, chopping veggies & cooking a meal before you even consider eating it. For some people this would be far too much and they would be unable to cut it up into manageable pieces. I hope this helps?

I would include peopleโ€™s inability to repeatedly, reliably and safely repeat tasks, even minimal cognitive or physical activities. Reading, speaking on the phone can make people relapse quickly. In tasks it is not just the action that can affect them but the steps to get 1/2

Thank you Sylvia. I know people value those resources but there is a cost. Do you have any thoughts on what healthcare professionals eg #OccupationalTherapists should include in supporting evidence when they write reports for our #PIP claims? Trusted advice via @advicelocal

3/ Add details on STAR - ie safely , timely to an acceptable level reliably & repeatedly . Eg pt. Can make a hot drink am one day but not again that same day or following day is important to make explicit in any supporting documentation #PIP gov.uk/government/publicatioโ€ฆ

2/ Healthcare professionals can get an idea from the above resources on the way in which the current assessment ( proposed to change) is undertaken and how a letter/ report can provide evidence on each descriptor BUT key importance is adding information on : see 3/

The government has announced the most devastating cuts to disability benefits on record. These plans should shame the government to its core. Here's our initial response to the new Welfare Green Paper ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡
