A lot of people think restaking is just lending your tokens twice, It’s not. In a traditional DeFi lending pool, your capital is deposited to match a borrower on the other side. Your risk is purely financial. In a restaking architecture, your capital is deposited to act as an economic bond for hardware operators. Your risk is operational (double-signing, or severe protocol downtime). Lending provides liquidity. Restaking provides cryptoeconomic security. Know the difference before you allocate.

GM. For the past week, i dissected how protocols like @aave optimize capital inside a lending engine. Now, it's time to zoom out to the layer underneath: Economic Security. Historically, every new decentralized network had to bootstrap its own validator set from scratch. It’s an incredibly expensive, inefficient, and vulnerable process. Restaking completely flips this paradigm. It treats cryptoeconomic security not as a static silo, but as a fluid, programmable resource that can be rehypothecated to protect multiple networks simultaneously. But as billions in capital pour into this layer, an architectural civil war has broken out between two fundamentally different engineering designs: EigenLayer and Symbiotic.
