Last week, the government launched its 10 Year Health Plan for England: ‘Fit for the Future’, where they recognised the need to improve access to care within communities, focusing on prevention and using technology as a healthcare tool.
With the promise of improved service access and more health services in neighbourhoods, we’d like to know how the plan will address women’s health.
We want to see:
· Clarity on whether new healthcare professionals will get more training in women’s health.
· A commitment that neighbourhood health services will provide the full range of women’s health care, and assurance that neighbourhood health services will be accessible for women from diverse communities.
We know just how important it is that we get it right for women, and we hope the government will use the new 10 year plan as an opportunity to address women’s health needs and break down the barriers to support that women face.
