Might be a technical psychology term... but very easy to get your head around. "Normalisation of deviance,” it hit me hard when I first heard it. It's when you quietly accept lower standards as "normal" because nothing bad has happened... yet. No drama. Just small, sensible shortcuts that feel efficient. "We've always done it this way." The Challenger Disaster showed it perfectly: "O-rings performed outside limits before - until they didn't." Good people, simply getting the job done, slowly drift from written rules to "real" ones. Once you see the gap between how work “should” happen and how it “actually” happens, you can't unsee it. Watch behaviour and listen to the language... because that's exactly where the term lives.

A Bottoms Up Approach To Workplace Safety
Most people think safety culture comes from the top. It doesn't. Well, not completely anyway. Leaders can influence, protect, or destroy it. But they don't create it alone. Really strong cultures are built where the work actually happens. - Leaders set the intent. - Workers set the reality. Culture is built from the ground up, too. You need to pay attention to those people already setting the tone.
