One of my favourite lots in next week’s 50 Years of Punk sale. Our vendor didn’t just keep ticket stubs — he also kept detailed diaries through 1977's punk explosion. Major gigs, amazing period detail, even: “Johnny Rotten asked me for a fag.”

At Omega Auctions, Growers of Mushrooms (1971 Decca SKL-R 5094) by Leaf Hound sold for $11,430.
Often compared to Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd, this heavy UK prog/psych cult classic came from the personal collection of Peter French (later of Atomic Rooster). VG condition, signed, with a handwritten note; rarity and provenance drove the price.
Also turning heads: a 1950s UK stereo pressing of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61 with Leonid Koganrealized $3,165; proof that early UK pressings can far outperform common later copies.
Prog grail. Audiophile treasure.
