It's #WorldChagasDay! Chagas disease is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, commonly known as the #KissingBug. Our member @NormanBeattyMD studies Chagas and spreads awareness about the #disease. He partners with many organizations, including @BceiUdea, @DNDi & @MundoSano.

So, what is Chagas Disease?
It is a parasitic infection caused by the Trypanosoma cruzi parasite.
The parasite is transmitted through the bite of an infected triatomine bug, also known as the "kissing bug."
It's primarily found in Latin America.
