Thank you to the News Register Editorial Board for the support! “Blistering rejection” sounds perfect for IP28! Hunting, fishing, ranching, animal husbandry, transporting livestock… it is Oregon’s past and our future! newsregister.com/article?art…

Ted Nugent posted this video on You Tube. I wish he wouldn’t say “Oregon wants to ban hunting…”. They are simply too many of us who oppose it, and I just pray we all turn in ballots in November. Do not sign IP28. youtu.be/qAa58qrwvBo?is=I8be…

Here is the Fox News Show segment with Ted Nugent talking about Oregon’s IP28. They don’t realize how many of the IP28 signers were duped into signing a petition “against animal experimentation.” youtu.be/EO5geNQ8prA?is=Ff0w…

The Oregon ballot initiative to ban hunting is Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), also known as the PEACE Act (People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions). It seeks to remove existing legal exemptions that protect hunting, fishing, and farming from state animal abuse statutes.

🚨 Oregon Ranchers Betrayed: IP28’s “All Animals Are Companions” Lie Exposed! 🐄💥 I had the chance to discuss IP28 (the PEACE Act) directly with one of the lead petitioners @ip28oregon What they claim is “compassion” is actually a radical attack on Oregon agriculture that’s riddled with hypocrisy. Oregon has 35,400 farms/ranches, 70k producers, 1.21M cattle, 120k dairy cows, and $2.1B in livestock sales supporting 53k jobs. Marginal grazing land keeps beef/dairy viable on low input acres. Switching to mushrooms? Lucrative per sq ft but tiny scale massive revenue, land, and job losses. Converting that land to solar, energy crops, or woody biomass? Devastates food security, rural economies, biodiversity, and Oregon’s heritage. Yet IP28 wants to treat ALL animals like your personal dog or cat by stripping cruelty law exemptions for farming, hunting, fishing, etc. The glaring hypocrisies against true “companion” treatment: Self-Defense: IP28 says: “except as necessary to defend against the threat of immediate harm to oneself, to other humans, or to other animals” (removes broad “otherwise authorized by law” and good husbandry exemptions). Hypocrisy: Ranchers won’t be able to protect their herds from predators like coyotes that are killing livestock day after day. You’d have to watch your animals get torn apart waiting for an “immediate” attack. That’s not protecting companions that’s forcing farmers to stand by helplessly. Veterinary Exemptions: IP28 removes the longstanding exemption for “any practice of good animal husbandry” while only keeping a narrow allowance for veterinary care “deemed necessary by a reasonably prudent person.” Hypocrisy: They claim all animals are companions deserving equal protection, but then strip away the legal shield for routine, accepted husbandry practices like dehorning, castration, and docking that keep livestock healthy. Vets get a carve-out, but everyday ranchers and farmers would face criminal charges for basic animal care that’s been standard for generations. That’s not equal treatment it’s a targeted attack on agriculture. Sexual Assault / Breeding: IP28: Sexual assault includes contact “for the purpose of… The impregnation or masturbation of the animal.” Hypocrisy: Turns standard artificial insemination and breeding done for generations to improve herds into a sex crime. Yet they create loopholes for pet breeders. Pure attack on livestock operations. No Tribal Exemptions/Wildlife: IP28 removes hunting/fishing/trapping exemptions with no full carve-out for treaty rights. Hypocrisy: Wild animals aren’t house pets living in your backyard. Banning management tools will cause massive overpopulation, disease, and more crop/livestock damage while ignoring Native treaty rights. Selective “rights” at best. This isn’t compassion. It’s ideology that would gut Oregon’s $6.7B ag economy, rural way of life, and food production while pretending moral superiority. Oregonians wake up and vote NO on IP28.

Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), proposed for the November 2026 Oregon ballot, aims to ban hunting, fishing, and trapping by reclassifying these activities as animal cruelty. The measure, supported by the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE), removes current exemptions for killing animals, effectively criminalizing most hunting, fishing, and livestock slaughter. This is not just misguided—it’s reckless and dangerous. This proposal would devastate Oregon from top to bottom. The economic fallout would be historic, wiping out tens of thousands of jobs and pushing already-struggling families over the edge. This isn’t abstract. It hits commercial fishing crews, ranchers, farmworkers, restaurant staff, truckers, processors, pest control companies, and the small towns that depend on them. It would cripple entire supply chains and hollow out rural Oregon almost overnight. I respect animals. I believe in humane treatment, responsible stewardship, conservation, and ethical hunting and fishing. What I do not believe in is forcing an extremist, one-size-fits-all ideology onto an entire state through law—especially when it guarantees chaos, shortages, and economic ruin. This isn’t compassion. It’s communist coercion. The consequences are obvious and catastrophic: * Who funds conservation when hunting and fishing licenses disappear? Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlifewould be financially gutted. * Oregon would lose millions in federal conservation funding tied to lawful hunting and fishing activity. * ODFW jobs would vanish—biologists, wardens, habitat specialists—gone. * Ranching in Oregon would be effectively destroyed. * Farmers wouldn’t even be able to plant crops without risking criminal liability for incidental wildlife harm. Imagine telling a wheat farmer he can’t plant because a field mouse might be killed. Generations of ranchers and farmers—people who built this state—would be reduced to a footnote in history. This is the most ridiculous and destructive ballot measure ever proposed in Oregon. And it won’t stop here. If it passes, it becomes the blueprint—state by state—until they try to impose it nationwide. Do not take peace, food security, or economic stability for granted. These activists will keep pushing until something breaks. And if this passes, Oregon breaks first. This isn’t progress. It’s ideological extremism masquerading as virtue—and it will leave Oregon poorer, weaker, and divided.

IP28 in Oregon - Seeks to criminalize hunting, fishing, and farming. Makes hunting/fishing “animal cruelty”. Makes breeding animals in a farm a sex crime.

I do not think this initiative affects tribal rights. The existing law does not have an exception for tribal rights, so the same treaties that give tribal rights now would be in play after IP28.
IP28 discriminates against Oregon Tribes. Treaty protects hunting and fishing rights would be in jeopardy. Why would an initiative meant to “protect animals” discriminate against Oregon Tribes AND hunters, farms, anglers and people who just want their own chickens for eggs? This isn’t about protecting animals, this has everything to do with control. Control over what you do and what you eat. NO ON IP28.

Well it would still be legal to raise cattle…. It is the harvesting of the livestock or transporting them to to an out of state slaughterhouse that would be problematic. Do Not sign IP28!

You have got to be f'ing kidding me! Animal rights groups are pushing something called Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), or the "PEACE Act" that would ban fishing, hunting, and conventional farming of livestock. A ballot measure in Oregon that would make it illegal and criminalize raising any type of livestock, hunting and fishing. This has to be the dumbest thing ive heard in years. Oh but dont worry because Bill Gates has a new sludge meat replacement patty being sold in stores today for ya. The great people of Oregon, or what's left of them, better see that this does not pass! These activists groups, Bill Gates with his ticks that make you allergic to meat, and these climate hoax bull shit artists trying to place a tax on cow farts and are hell bent on stopping people from eating meat. Deliberate fire are being started that have killed thousands of cattle and other livestock. Anyone remember all the chicken farms that just happen to catch on fire? People better wake up to this bull shit and understand what your voting on or one day you will wake up and there will be a ban on your main protein sources!

I have friends in Texas and have learned about the flag from the battle of Gonzales while visiting…. You see the reference on coffee mugs and all over down there. Anyway, this post gave me quite the chuckle. For those who don’t know the reference, it is in Wikipedia.
Our stance whether IP28 passes or not:

Initiative Petition 28 (IP28), also known as the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE) Act, is being promoted as an animal-protection measure, but its practical effect would be a sweeping assault on rural life, food production, property rights, and the responsible stewardship of God’s creation.
