June is National Indigenous History Month.   Throughout the month, we are reminded of the importance of reflecting on, celebrating and honouring the rich histories, cultures, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across the land now known as Canada.   National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to reflect on our organizational Values, learn more about the histories, cultures and contributions of Indigenous Peoples and consider how we can continue to foster understanding and inclusion. Join us this month as we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to creating a space of inclusion and belonging for all.

Nurses are the heart of our healthcare system. They stand with patients and families through the hardest moments — offering compassion, skill, and steady support when it matters most. Their dedication and sacrifices often go unnoticed, but their impact touches every corner of our community. Grateful to visit Peel Memorial with Cllr @medeiros_martin and Cllr @RodPower7_8 this Nurses Week to thank these healthcare heroes in person. #NursesWeek @OslerHealth

Yesterday, on #InternationalDayoftheNurse, our 12 fellows of the inaugural eINSPIRE Fellowship program celebrated their graduation. The eINSPIRE program provides support and guidance for point-of-care nurses at Osler who are striving for excellence in practice, education, research and leadership. Over the past six months, they have worked incredibly hard translating their learnings into evidence-informed practices. A special thank you to Chief Nursing & Professional Practice & Assistant Deputy Minister of Ontario, Dr. @KarimaVelji for joining us today as the fellows shared their final presentations and visiting our Dedication Education Unit.

"I have to carry this big accordion around, but I’m going to keep doing this as long as I possibly can!” Joining Osler as a volunteer in 2014, we captured Eugene playing accordion in the lobby at Brampton Civic in 2017. Nine years later, we bumped into him again, still doing what he loves. He now plays twice a week at Brampton Civic and Peel Memorial, sharing his talents and uplifting patients and visitors across our hospitals. #NationalVolunteerWeek
