My first investment. was FFHH… FSF Financial/First Federal Bank in Hutchinson, MN. Conversion that turned out well and definitely influenced my investment interest in banks!

In 1989~1991, I traveled the country putting deposits in mutually held S&Ls. At the time my net worth was under $10,000. I put the better part of my life savings in passbook accounts and CDs in the expectation that they would one day go public and that I would have the capital to participate in the IPOs which usually allow for investments of $250k-500k
A number of them went public during my days at Jefferies working for @HandlerRich in ‘91-‘94 allowing me to make enough (along with some generous bonuses from my employer) for my grub stake which funded the GP capital to launch Third Point on June 1, 1995. 35 years later I have maintained all the accounts and periodically participate in the offerings to this day.

Getting ahead of the story--more to come. I filed a 14a-8 to uplist the stock and they quashed it because I didn't call into last year's s/h meeting. It will all be detailed.

$EMYB Many corporate governance issues here. They will all be discussed one post a day. Dave quashed a s/h proposal to enhance liquidity wasting BIG $ in legal fees to do so. More details to come on that. But even First Act Dave has had an issue with the bank hq building.

The board has a reputation for meddling.
The shareholders don’t appreciate it.
5mln shares are owned by insiders and 1 by ETFs, suggesting almost every outside shareholder vote went against Whalen.
