👋💻🔒Pinduoduo, one of China's most popular e-commerce sites, has been exposed for spying on its millions of users through its Android app!
@CNNBusiness reported this alarming revelation in an article (
edition.cnn.com/2023/04/02/t…), and it's a big reminder on how critical cybersecurity is in our digital world.
🗣️ Our CEO
@_bagipro Sergei Toshin determined Pinduoduo in an interview with
@CNNBusiness, as “the most dangerous malware” ever found among mainstream apps.
👨💻Pinduoduo took advantage of several vulnerabilities in the AOSP, one of which was identified and reported to Google by Oversecured in February 2022. Google fixed the issue in March of this year.
🕵️♂️These exploits allowed Pinduoduo access to users’ locations, contacts, calendars, notifications, and photo albums without their consent. They could also change system settings and access users’ social network accounts and chats.
🚨 This situation is a wake-up call for everyone, and companies must prioritize users' data protection now!
🛡️ At Oversecured, we're all about identifying and fixing security problems in mobile apps. Our unique approach uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify and fix security flaws, making it more efficient than traditional manual methods.
