One of the best things I ever did with my kids was go around every night and bag up whatever they left out. Clothes, toys, games, doesn’t matter.
Once a week I hold a garage sale. They can earn back anything they want with extra work.
It keeps the house clean, teaches them responsibility, builds their negotiating skills, and now I don’t have weeds in my flower beds 🤣

I will never forget
Kurt was one of the first troops I had as a new Team Leader. He was newer to Fort Hood, having spent his first year or so in the Army in Korea. I had the honor of getting to know him while I was tasked with preparing for his imminent deployment.
He was a sharp dude, and I knew he had so much potential.

I will never forget
After I got back from Afghanistan, I got my first fireteam. Noah was a new squad leader, and I was his first new team leader.
I had deployed immediately after I got married to my HS sweetheart. I returned to a life that hadn’t previously existed for me, carrying my own trauma and baggage, and I was having a hard time adapting.
Noah helped mentor and guide me on how to be a good man, husband and (eventual) father.
