Amazing to judge this year’s Collision Pitch competition and congrats to @YishelKhan for an amazingly innovative idea. Can’t wait to see it change the world. Proud to represent @CAE_Inc
That’s a wrap on the 2022 Pitch competition @CollisionHQ 🏆 Such fun judging this year’s final with @weschan @PCCopes @BessemerVP ⚡️

Agreed they’d like the $400 repos back but Rob’s jittery-ness on repos based on the premise that “The upward trajectory on cash runs out next year” in the 2016 article was WAY wrong. 2017 took another massive step up (Q2 ‘17 guidance boost was one for the ages). Hindsight 20/20
Replying to @PCCopes
Gigantic YES BUT in the form of this industry is just as cyclical as it has ever been. A super upcycle comes with a super downcycle. They were being cautioned by many analysts that they needed to temper the buyback as far back as 2016. on.wsj.com/3oqgjpr

To be clear they made huge mistakes that will take a long time to correct, it’s just hard to see how anyone could’ve seen a cash crisis of the magnitude coming. And I think the last decade’s repos, on average, are still comfortably below today’s prices

While massive failures made, it’s hard to picture the board meeting where they conclude “we should sit on all this cash just in case our most profitable product is grounded for 20 mos at the same time demand takes a 15 std dev downward move”. That’s one hell of a crystal ball
One item worth noting. The dearth of long-term thinking had Boeing buying back shares at $400 each and now will need to sell them around $230 to raise cash.

The latest sign that President Trump is ready to throw in the towel comes in the form of his personal airplane, which has sat unused for years ... until now. Great thread from @jonostrower, who misses nothing.
File this in the ‘There’s always an aviation angle’ folder. There’s a leading indicator that will definitively tell the world if President Trump has decided to leave the Presidency. It’s his airplane.

Love the @powerlunch crew. $BA stock on a tear. Market caught offsides when vaccine news hit. Layer on MAX recert & an unexpected MAX order and perfect storm to chase the stock higher emerges. Won’t change Street estimates but is changing conviction to look thru near term stress
Boeing flying high today on news that Ryanair has ordered more 737 Max Jets. @PCCopes on whether they can keep soaring in 2021 $BA $RYAAY

No idea this existed. What an amazing story
Layer on the total capital raised and draw it forward 4 quarters and I bet you’ll have one hell of an impressive chart...
Bye-backs.

Why not order a pitcher of beer for yourself after a hot day of hard work in the yard... I mean, it’s economical. The look. The look is why

Holy cow. #avgeek porn to the Maximum! What an amazing shot
Appears that the #737MAX recertification flight took less time than the flight plan filed with the FAA stated... good news? There is absolutely nothing more important for $BA shares than the recertification of the MAX. The cash flow engine of the company depends on it.
The formal 737 Max re-certification flight by the FAA, BOE701, now has an active flight plan filed for this morning. bit.ly/31rsVV9

Family RV trip cross country takes you through Roswell, NM and what does an #avgeek do? Stop to take pictures of all the aircraft parked due to COVID of course! Just mind blowing. Tens of billions of dollars on the tarmac by my count

I’d like to think $25bn should cover them... if it can’t then the tone of Wednesday’s earnings call was pretty far off
