How laid back is Yared Nuguse? Before his 1500 final at the 2019 NCAA outdoor champs, his coaches found him asleep in the backseat of the rental car an hour before the race. He went out and won the title.

LaSalle needed to win the final event of the day — the 4x400 relay— in order to lock up the state team title by .5 points. Second place or lower in the 4x4 and they don’t win the first outdoor state title in school history.

Langon intentionally struck the same pose as his coach, Marcus O'Sullivan, did in 1984 after winning.
O'Sullivan hit it after winning the 4xMile and losing the DMR the day prior. The previous year in 1983, Villanova came up empty.
The same thing happened to Langon in 2025 and 2026.
History repeats itself.
