Jakobe got them saying… “ya know what. It’s not even necessary tbh”
U.S. Olympian Freddie Crittenden has announced his decision to retire at the conclusion of the 2026 outdoor season.
🗣️ “I wanted to announce it because I would like to cherish these last few meets that I have and take the time to say thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey – competitors through the meets that I’ve met, agents, teammates, coaches. I wanted to announce it so when I see everybody, I can be in that moment and express gratitude. There are many reasons why I’ve decided to retire this year, even though I think I can still run some of my best times ever right now, but the biggest reason is my family. I wanted to prioritize time with them as it’s growing. I wanted to prioritize time with my wife and support her in this time as well.”
🇺🇸 Crittenden represented Team USA at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest (where he finished 4th) and the 2024 Paris Olympics (where he finished 6th).
With his personal best of 12.93 for the 110m hurdles, he is tied with Renaldo Neheimiah for 10th on the U.S. all-time list.
He says his last race in the United States will be the USATF Outdoor Championships in New York next month.
