🚨 Structure Fire - Lompoc 🚨
At approximately 7:15 AM, Santa Barbara County Fire crews, along with @LompocCityFire and Vandenberg Fire personnel, responded to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of A Street.
Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved detached garage. Firefighters are currently making strong progress attacking the blaze. No injuries have been reported. The cause remains under investigation.
For the safety of the public and our personnel, please avoid the area. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Vegetation Fire: US Highway 101 northbound at Naples.
Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a roadside vegetation fire estimated at approximately 1/4 acre. Four engines and one battalion chief responded to the incident. Forward progress was stopped at 6:23 p.m., and crews remain on scene conducting mop-up operations.
No structures were threatened. Cause is under investigation. CT 5:57 pm

Vehicle Rollover: Southbound Hwy 101 near Refugio State Beach Rd.
A truck overturned and came to rest on the railroad tracks.
Crews are working to remove the vehicle. No injuries have been reported. Railroad tracks in the area are temporarily closed.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, as wet weather is in the forecast and roads may be slick.

Animal rescue: 1700 block of San Marcos Pass Rd. A horse fell into a ditch and was at risk of falling into a creek. Santa Barbara County Fire responded, and Santa Barbara City Fire assisted in the incident. The horse’s veterinarian sedated the horse, allowing crews to safely rescue and return it to stable ground. The horse was not injured. CT 6:58 p.m.

Foothill Fire Update (5/22/26 at 7:00 p.m.):
The Foothill Fire remains 904 acres and is now 90% contained.
The Evacuation Warning has been CANCELLED for areas north of Big Pine Mountain, east of Perkins Road, west of the Cuyama River, and south of Cuyama Valley.
Firefighters continue mop-up operations and monitoring for remaining heat within the fire perimeter.
Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and remain aware of changing conditions.

Foothill Fire Update (5/23/26 9:30 am)
The Foothill Fire remains 904 acres and is 90% contained.
Approximately 150 personnel remain assigned to the incident as firefighters continue mop-up operations, strengthen containment lines, and monitor for remaining heat within the fire perimeter.
Today marks the final operational period for the Type 3 Incident Management Team as command transitions to a Type 4 organization moving forward.
Thank you to all firefighters, cooperators, and assisting agencies for their hard work and dedication throughout this incident.

Actualización del Incendio Foothill (05/21/26 8:00 AM): Bomberos continúan reforzando las líneas de contención y apagando puntos calientes en el área del incidente en el Valle de Cuyama. Durante la noche, las cuadrillas lograron contener varios incendios pequeños provocados por cambios en el viento.
El incendio actualmente se mantiene en 904 acres con un 50% de contención y aproximadamente 275 personas asignadas al incidente. Los equipos siguen trabajando entre 50 y 100 pies dentro de las líneas de contención para apagar calor restante, especialmente en áreas con árboles de enebro.
Bomberos también continúan trabajando en terreno empinado, condiciones polvosas y clima caliente y ventoso durante el día de hoy.
Agradecemos la colaboración continua entre Santa Barbara County Fire, CAL FIRE y el U.S. Forest Service.

La Advertencia de Evacuación siguen vigentes. Carretera 166 sigue abierta al tráfico.
Por la Oficina del Sheriff, la Orden de Evacuacion emitida debido a un incendio se ha REDUCIDO a una ADVERTENCIA DE EVACUACION. Se recomienda a los residentes que permanezcan fuera del area hasta que se cancele la Advertencia de Evacuacion. Los residentes que decidan regresar ahora deben permanecer atentos a las condiciones cambiantes y estar preparados para irse en cualquier momento.
El area al norte de Castro Canyon, este de Perkins Road, y al oeste de Cuyama River
El area al sur de valle de Cuyama, al norte de Big Pine Mountain, y al oeste de Cuyama River/Highway 33
La Advertencia de Evacuacion ha sido CANCELADA para el area al sur de Foothill Rd, este de Cuyama River, y al oeste de Quatal Canyon. Tenga cuidado al regresar a casa ya que el personal de emergencia sigue trabajando en el area. Permanezca atento a las condiciones cambiante.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department’s commitment to emergency medical services dates back more than 70 years. From operating a county-owned ambulance in 1953 to launching one of California’s earliest paramedic programs in 1973, our department has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
Today, that legacy continues through the work of our firefighter paramedics, EMTs, nurses, dispatchers, educators, field training officers, and EMS leadership personnel who support emergency medical care across Santa Barbara County.
To the 240 EMTs and 104 paramedics within our department: thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving others — often during someone’s most critical moment.
