On June 15, Russia once again launched a massive attack on Kyiv, using approximately 70 missiles and over 600 drones of various types. Poland strongly condemns Russia’s barbaric attack that resulted in fatalities and more than 30 injuries, including children.   Serious damage was also reported to sites of particular significance to Ukraine’s religious and cultural heritage, including the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, one of the most important sites of Orthodox Christianity and a site of exceptional value to the world’s cultural heritage.   Despite yet another act of violence targeting civilians, the spirit of Ukraine’s defenders remains unbroken. The Ukrainian people can count on our support and solidarity in the face of this brutal aggression and the suffering it inflicts on the country’s innocent residents.

Russia increased attacks on Ukrainian civilians again last night and carried out strikes that damaged a UNESCO World Heritage site in Kyiv. These are war crimes, and Russia will have to answer for them. In response, today we are adopting additional sanctions targeting Russia's military-industrial complex and its shadow fleet. Every measure further restricts Russia's room for manoeuvre. My press remarks ahead of today’s Foreign Affairs Council ↓

Oil prices may have risen because of the Iran conflict, but they will not save Russia's economy. In the first 4 months of 2026, Russia's budget deficit reached 5.9 trillion roubles. EU sanctions keep restricting Russia's access to technology, finance, logistics and energy markets

Enough is enough. Time for a ceasefire now. This week all UN Security Council members—except one—were united in calling for a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire. As did Ukraine. Russia remains the only obstacle to peace. We urge it to abide by UNSC members' call. Now.

💬 This year, Gdynia is celebrating the 100th anniversary of being granted city rights. Its dynamic development is sometimes referred to as the “miracle on the Baltic” - much like the entire Polish economy, which has experienced its own miracle over the past three decades. We hope that Gdynia’s value and its modernist architecture will be recognized by UNESCO, and that the city will take its rightful place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. | Deputy PM, FM @sikorskiradek during a media briefing
