A blockchain technology directly incentivizing renewable electricity production rather than electricity consumption (PoW) or wealth accumulation (PoS).
This #GivingTuesday, please support a project that can accelerate our renewable energy transition! In #GG19's Climate Solutions round, the square root of your gift counts as votes for allocating matching funds. Even a $1 donation can match to large impact! explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/β¦
Thank you SO MUCH to the 111 contributors who supported this project with $127.28 in crowdfunding! Matching results are still being finalized, but it's heartwarming to see community support for a project with such large potential impact.
π Today's the day: #SBSEarth
There are two ways to join in:
πΏ Watch talks LIVE with us starting at 10am EST
πΏ Catch recorded talks any time of day with experts across the world
See you there!
PREPchain is now live in @clrfund's Quadratic Funding round! If you can make it through the onboarding needed to secure proof that you're a unique & unbribed human, please note your support even if it's the default $5 amount! More donors = higher match %. clr.fund/#/projects/0xdacb64β¦
As a home for folks who wish to support the project after the #GitcoinBeta round, please check out the project on @Giveth! It should be live with verification completed soon at this updated link:

As an update, though the project appears to meet stated verification criteria, @Giveth rejected verification with no explanation (and you can't ask via closed Twitter DMs).
πΌ It only takes a spark to get a fire going
And soon the whole East Coast
Is choking 'cause it's glowing
Thanks to a change in climate
Trees are more likely to burn
When carbon's cost has come to bear
You want to pass it on πΆ
One basic law of #physics is that energy is conserved, not produced or consumed even you change what form it's in. When producing *electricity* from renewable sources, you're not producing the *energy* itself. Let's be more precise in our language!
This is not to say that other ways of capturing & using energy from renewable sources (e.g. mechanical, thermal, chemical, etc.) aren't at least as valuable; those are in some cases a much more efficient way of using energy resources.
However, scoping more narrowly to focus on electricity production from renewable sources seems like a faster way to get to what could still be a huge impact.
Thanks to everyone who supported PREPchain in the recent #GitcoinBeta round! We're still awaiting final results but the support despite *very late* review and partial addition to the round (on @Gitcoin's part) is much appreciated.
Hey frens! We're looking for #web3/ #blockchain companies involved in #climate/ #sustainability-related activities π±πΎπ
Please share the ones you know in the comments below π
There are some great uses for blockchain technology, including those that advance sustainability goals, such as sustainable supply chain track-and-trace, carbon credit trading, & many more. They deserve to live on a more sustainable blockchain that's not burning tons of energy.
