Another ProTip: run your ideas past someone who has had recent study section service on a panel somewhat close to the ones you are targeting. preferably several someones. Rather than some consultant who has never been a PI and never served on a study section.

I cannot stress this enough - when your grants office sends you the completed packet that is "ready for upload" you better check every damn page. Do not skip this step. These systems do weird stuff when they a smashing word files, pdfs, and other file types together.

1st faculty member fired under Texas SB 18 law to revoke tenure is a Black woman. Tenured African history associate professor, Dr. Mickie Mwanzia Koster, who’s been at UT Tyler since 2011, was fired with no just cause, no due process, no chance to respond to claims against her.
🚨🚨🚨
The first tenured faculty member has been given a summary dismissal under Texas’s SB 18.
The tenured professor was given a two-week notice, afforded no hearing in her defense prior dismissal, & no opportunity to appeal. More details soon. 👀
