Kane Hodder, the actor who played Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th films, refused to film a scene where Jason was supposed to kick a dog.
He insisted that while Jason was ruthlessly evil, he wasn't evil enough to hurt animals.
So the new Stargate show is "cancelled" due to "lacking broad appeal", which is bs.

In the movie's defense, Sebastian Shaw absorbed Alex's blast, amplified it, and inserted it into Darwin that his mutant power couldn't adapt to it quick enuff. Plus he wasn't the only one who died at the base or killed by Shaw and his goons throughout the movie.
