Huge congratulations to all who were named winners and Highly Commended in this evening's #SciTechAwards! Sadly eLife wasn't among them, but it was great to be in the room with such fantastic company. And thank you to @CambridgeIndy for a really enjoyable event!
I'm excited to share that @eLife has been shortlisted for the @CambridgeIndy Science and Technology Awards 2023. Congratulations to the eLife and @scietyHQ teams, and to all the other finalists! #SciTechAwards

Our paper on ORF3d, a new gene in #SARSCoV2 that is not present in SARS-CoV, is out today in @eLife! We believe ORF3d is important: for a virus with only ~15 genes, one extra could make a big difference, potentially explaining its unique biology.
