Take the politics and connections out of it for a second. Is Robbie Keane really the level Celtic should be going all in on? Winning leagues with Ferencváros and Maccabi Tel Aviv isn’t exactly the hardest sell in football. Those clubs are expected to compete for titles every year. He’s had a couple of decent Europa scalps and his teams play attacking football, fair enough. But does that automatically make him the standout candidate for Celtic? Feels like a lot of the backing comes from the Desmond connection and the Irish links rather than a managerial CV that screams elite appointment. Genuine question if it is Keane, would the majority of fans fully back it from day one?
