The £3k per second claim is pure hype — that would be over £10 million/hour, which no yacht comes close to burning in fuel. These massive superyachts (likely 70-100m class) racing at high speed probably burn 1,000–3,000 litres/hour each depending on exact size, engines and speed. At ~£1.80/litre marine diesel, that’s roughly **£30–£100 per minute per yacht**. Still insanely expensive, but a tiny fraction of the viral number. The wakes and power look epic though!

Very interesting to see Bernie Sanders no longer focused on millionaires since he himself became one. This is a man who wants his book sales to hit the millions, travels in private jets, and has multiple private homes. Talk about a hypocrite.
