Stop Ford's Union Busting! About 4,000 OPSEU community and social services workers in Ontario, mainly women, are now on strike or locked out, fighting for their retroactive salary and more funding for services. Ford provoked this strike and is out to bust the union. In London,100 scabs are being billeted in a hotel where striking workers set up a picket line and police were called in. The pickets stopped the scabs from exiting the hotel for up to four hours. Picket lines mean don't cross! To win, what is urgently needed is all OPSEU workers to come out to build and defend the picket lines. Full retro pay for all OPSEU workers! Ford is playing hardball against OPSEU strikers, even though he was forced to pay retroactive salaries to more strategic sectors in OPSEU like sewage plant and educational support workers. OPSEU should be mobilizing such sectors to pull their services and walk off the job if the retroactive payments are not met! A broader fightback is needed to defeat Ford's gutting of healthcare, education and social services. Mobilize the power of labour to throw back these attacks!
