Unravelling what goes wrong in #MND is key to creating a world free of MND. @PataniLab are investigating whether DNA damage plays a role in MND development and progression. @mndassoc is proud to fund research which could pave the way to explore new potential therapies. More ⬇
Last week we announced that we’ve invested £11m into research to find new treatments for MND🔬. This includes a significant investment into a project at @ucl @TheCrick looking at the impact of DNA damage in MND. Click the link to find out more👇: myname5doddie.co.uk/whats-on…

Finally, and most importantly, this work is the result of a multi-collaborative effort and it could have not been possible without the amazing @DiMicheleLAB1, @PataniLab, @FA_Aprile and @YuvalElani. Thank you all for your support!

In this context we demonstrated how formation of intermolecular G4s can trigger aggregation of RNA expansion repeats that are typical of ALS/FTD, further highlighting the biological impact that the formation of these structures can have in regulating cell homeostasis.
