President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (PBBM) has officially called on Congress to convene in a special session on June 17, 2026, to address urgent legislative measures and recovery efforts. Exercising his constitutional authority under Proclamation No. 1318, the President directed both chambers to cut short their sine die adjournment to fast-track pending legislation focused on social protection, education, healthcare, and calamity response. @bongbongmarcos

To assess ongoing government assistance for affected residents, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the evacuation center at the Municipal Plaza in Barangay Poblacion, Glan, Sarangani on June 15, 2026. During the visit, the President observed the ongoing distribution of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) family food packs and the provision of hot meals through the mobile kitchen. He also witnessed the first distribution of 350 ChariTimba pieces from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the distribution of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) amounting to Php5,000 each for 453 beneficiaries. Likewise, the President observed the ongoing relief operations and led the turnover of Php20 million in assistance under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) and one (1) Starlink unit to the Municipality of Glan, Sarangani.
