Considering how much bloat a lot of AAA studios currently include in their games to try to justify $70 prices, all I see this doing is massively increasing the standard. If a game has a base cost of $100 I'm going to look at everything with a far more critical eye than $60.
A new report suggests some AAA game studios "hope" Rockstar prices Grand Theft Auto 6 at $100 to set a precedent.

It also encourages devs to make the DLC worthwhile. Nobody involved in GOTY is going to care for 5 skins and a battle arena, but something like BL2's Tiny Tina adventure or Elden Ring's Shadow of the ErdTree is a different matter.
