"Wrong on safety. Wrong for DC." @Janeese4DC voted to let people charged with violent crimes, carjacking, and even homicide walk free while awaiting trial... even if a judge says they are a danger to the community.

"I'm not gonna divest from the police, like @Janeese4DC. What I will do is invest in policing to make sure it is community oriented. The same work I did as a Civil Rights attorney in @BarackObama's Justice Department." --@kenyanmcduffie

New polling today showed the majority of the American people still think Democrats are out of touch when it comes to law enforcement and public safety. Having mayors like Kenyan McDuffie would go a long way to solving that problem.

As Councilmember, @Janeese4DC pushed a utility plan that Democrats warned would "increase prices," even though energy prices are ⬆ 93% since she was elected. Now she's running for mayor and your costs could go higher, higher and higher.

In case you were wondering how the mayoral election in DC is going… The progressive candidate released a statement about two children being murdered by talking about grocery stores.

As my upcoming @WashInformer highlights, mayoral candidates, particularly @OrangeVo40 and @RiniSampath in particular, have been critical about: the focus on $$$ as an indicator of electibility and the influx of funds to suppot @Janeese4DC and @kenyanmcduffie's
#BreakingNews - The DC Office of Campaign Finance has opened an investigation into allegations that the Janeese Lewis George campaign for mayor is improperly involved with unions that also are running an independent PAC supporting Lewis George. The JLG campaign calls it “a baseless complaint.” @wcp

The @washingtonpost asked for my thoughts about the DC mayoral race. "...anyone who wants to be mayor should make clear where they stand on public safety [...] the days since the shooting have revealed a contrast between @kenyanmcduffie and @Janeese4DC."

Improving public safety in DC is hard work, but we've made progress. @Janeese4DC opposes common sense solutions, like temporary teen curfew zones. Tell her she's wrong today. On April 21, the DC Council will vote on new legislation to authorize a curfew.

Teen curfew zones protected public safety in DC this weekend. Unfortunately, a melee erupted in an area not covered by a curfew. @Janeese4DC opposes teen curfews and has led efforts on the DC Council to block them. If elected mayor, JLG won't use this effective tool.

Affordability is the number one issue facing DC families. Nearly half of our residents are burdened by housing costs. Utility bills keep climbing. Childcare costs more here than almost anywhere in the country. To me, affordability is more than a buzzword. A more affordable city is a city where everyone can have the opportunity to succeed, where long-time families can continue to stay, and where new residents are welcomed with open arms. An affordable city is a city worth fighting for— and as Mayor, I'll deliver the results to get us there.
