A Fiscal Gerrymander is a new phrase in the world of political skullduggery. strongs.biz/fiscal-gerrymand… @SkyNewsAust @abcnews @GuardianAus

Should economic mismanagement be a crime? No it can’t be as democracy can’t let that happen - but we need better ways to protect future generations from debts such as we have in the ACT & Victoria. strongs.biz/should-economic-… @SaulEslake @ChrisEconomist @SkyNewsAust @patrickdurkin

I want to put it out there that @ChrisEconomist is the Carl Sagan of economics. Explains it so it’s understandable and exciting! Excellent.

I don't mind talking to a robot if it's in a robot voice and clearly a robot. Talking to an AI generated cutesy pretend human voice is annoying.

Can't speak for others, but I've long called for higher rents and royalties. And I've never believed they should be profit-based. It should be a price-per-unit (ounce, barrel, etc), with a base price then a scaled increase as prices rise.

Even if the oil and gas tax structure was well-designed (it's not), here's the key fault: Australia only gets paid for *our* resources, if the company makes a profit. If it doesn't, we've given the oil and gas away *free*? In what sane world does that make sense?

The public service is at its best when it reflects the society it serves. Today, that society is more unequal across generations. If the APS fails to manage that shift, it risks becoming disconnected from the problems it is meant to solve. @themandarinau themandarin.com.au/311882-a-…

Migrants fought for Australia & we are offspring of people who moved here except for the indigenous peoples who were here before. Then indigenous veterans were booed by a small minority at some Anzac Day events. Disrespect for all our veterans. #ANZAC

If Pauline Hansen becomes our leader (very unlikely but many thought that about Trump) then Greg Sheridan will be her version of Marco Rubio 😳.

A Jewish man charged with anti-semitism and the Pope being attacked for standing up for poor people. Seems in this current world the truth is not acceptable even if it is coming from a Jew or a Pope.

So as Trump unravels and millions march against him, here at home the Libs have let the Australian synonym for MAGA - One Nation - get votes. The times they are a-changing …. Will the centre win through?

💡Quality social connections support health, financial and labour market outcomes. However, longitudinal data shows social connections are changing across OECD countries as people meet in person less often than in the past. Learn more in our new blog🔗oecdcogito.blog/2026/02/17/f…

Why isn’t anyone questioning the ACT’s government interaction with the CFMEU? They have plenty of form. @abcnews @SkyNewsAust @smh
